The True Meaning of Black History

Some people do not celebrate Black History Month because they do not understand the true meaning of this special time. Black History Month is a special time to honor those who fought and are still fighting for the rights of black people. As a child, I did not understand the meaning of celebrating Black History Month, but I celebrated it anyway. Growing up, I learned the challenges and battles these people had to face to bring equality between people of different races. I admire some of these Black Americans for their heroic actions.
